A Monumental Moment!!!

For those of you that know my mother well, you will know that tonight was a very special night. Yes, she actually played a game with the kids!! Notice she is even on the floor with them. I about had a heart attack when I walked in on this event! Okay, mostly kidding here. My kids know my mother as the Grandma that does not play games and Mike's mom as the game playing Grandma. So tonight was a special night indeed. She loves my kids tremendously, just does not like playing games with them. I had to break out the camera! Thanks Grandma you made their night!!!

Orange Crush!

Lily's last soccer game was last night. It was a makeup game from all the rain we have gotten this spring. She was on the team Orange Crush and they were great!!! They went undefeated the entire season and can't wait for fall! She scored two goals last night! She loves soccer! Go Lily!!!

Awards Assembly!

Jacob had his awards assembly on the last day of school! He did great and got a reading award and science award. After the assembly I walked up to him and in true Jacob sweetness he started to get teary eyed. I asked what was wrong and he said, "I am sad that school is done, I am going to miss it here." Isn't he just the sweetest kid! After he pulled himself together, while hiding behind me to not let his friends see him cry, he sought out his teacher to say goodbye and take a picture. I just love my tendered hearted kid!

My Bug Girl!!!

Lily is just like me when I was younger. She loves bugs. She was getting ready for a bath the other day and saw a butterfly outside and had to go see it. She is a bug lover. We have these annoying millepede's all over the house and she loves to pick them up, collect them, and take them to her room so they can live with her. Crazy girl!

Sleepy Leif!

I can't help but take pictures of him sleeping. We have gotten into a bad habit of him falling asleep on the couch around 4 or 5 pm. If I give him a nap at about 1 or 2 he will not go to sleep. I guess he likes naps on the couch the best!

The Wise Puddle Jumper

I was working in the garage the other day after a big rain storm when Leif came out to play by me. It wasn't long before it got quiet. Not usually a good thing. I glance out the garage to see Leif standing at the edge of a huge puddle that had formed in the driveway. He was staring into it longingly. He very slowly turned his head until we made eye contact. He then stared at me for just a moment and said "You go inside Dad." Expecting to here next, "You're not going to want to see this!" Very Funny!

The Winner!

So, as Kindergarten is drawing to a close, our little Lily received an award for being the most enthusiastic and the class comedian. Two traits we can certainly attest to. With the award came a gift certificate to Red Robin (yum) for a free kid's meal. When she got home and showed us we asked her if she would share with the rest of the family. She said yes, then disappeared for moment and returned with her gift certificate cut into 6 pieces and began handing them out to the family. After the drama had passed from realizing that a cut up certificate was worthless, we taped it back together and posed for this picture before heading out to eat. She can be silly but she's got a big heart.

Jacob Gets His Bobcat!!!

He finally did it! Actually it only took him a couple of weeks just did not have a pack meeting for a long time! He was so excited! Apparently they don't turn you upside down anymore for the pinning. Oh well, he is loving scouts and wants to work on it everyday after school with his dad. Wonder how long this will last! Good job Jake!!

Lily's Class Program and Terrific Kid!

Lily had a class program during school Friday morning and was also the terrific kid for her class that week. She got to stand on stage during the whole school assembly because she was a terrific kid. It was so fun to watch her up there dance to all the songs being sung by the school. She was so animated it was great! Her class was able to do their little program in front of the school that morning which was so dang cute. Each kid recited a different nursery rhyme and dressed up! They did great!

She was so excited to receive her award from the principal! She darted across the stage jumping up and down when they called her name. The principal started jumping up and down with her. It was so cute!!!

Jacob's Music Program!

The second and third graders had a music program at school tonight! They all sang about 10 songs and each class did one on their own. It was really cute and they did a wonderful job!
