Can you believe it, I am 33!! I don't look a day over 18 I know! We celebrated in style. We got PF Chang's take out and brought it home to eat. Mike's parents were leaving the next morning at the crack of dawn and Craig was really sick all day. I had the wonderful 7 layer chocolate cake for my b-day cake. Mike, the wonderful husband that he is, gave me the perfect gift! I got an attachment for my wedding ring!!! I am now officially married and not just engaged! How exciting! Thanks Mike!!!

Can You Believe It, Grandpa Is Playing Games!!!
An amazing thing happened over the holiday break. One night my dad decided to have all the kids go into the seminary room and play games with the grand kids. We were all shocked! They played spin the bottle and button button whose got the button with grandpa. We didn't tell him spin the bottle was not the most appropriate game to be playing with the kids, at least not the way we played it in high school! HAHA He toned down their version of the game and the kids had a blast with Grandpa Bushman for quite awhile!! Yea Grandpa, it can be done!!!!
FUN WITH THE COUSINS!!!
Oh how my kids love their cousins! Everyday Jake or Lily would cry if they had to leave to go home and go to bed. They had so much fun playing all of Cecily's creative games. They ran around everywhere at my parents house playing some spy game with their little hats on. My kids ask me everyday now when they can go to Texas and see Cecily and Lauren or ask when they are moving back. I am glad they are able to be around them often. I loved being close with my cousins growing up!!!
Thunder Basketball Game!!!
Over Christmas break we also attended a Thunder Basketball game. That's right Oklahoma now has an NBA team! Although they have the worst record in the NBA this year, the games are still fun to go to. Maybe someday the Thunder will be a team you don't want to mess with! HAHA We had really close seats thanks to Ryan!!! We were playing Phoenix and got to see Shaq! That dude is huge! Ryan and Eric of course had to have some fun and built a huge pyramid out of the balloons they hand out to distract the free throws. It was huge and I never did get the whole thing in a picture. Those two are like little kids when they get together! It was a fun night though!!!

Radio City Rockettes
We went to the Radio City Rockettes Spectacular a couple of days after Christmas. We left Leif home with Grandma and Grandpa Bushman and enjoyed an evening out! Jacob and Lily were very into it. It was actually much better than I thought it was going to be! Half way through Lily leaned over to me and said, "I think I am going to be one of those mom!" It was so cute. She loves to sing and dance so it would not surprise me if she did end up doing that! We met Eric and Wendy's family for dinner afterwards in Bricktown and had fun visiting. It was a great night!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

FAMILY!!!
Lily kept telling me and Santa that she wanted a snow board for Christmas. Why on earth would she want this and where had she seen one before. We live in Oklahoma silly girl where it never snows. I asked her what a snowboard even was and sure enough she said, "something you stand on and ride down the mountain." Funny girl. Luckily Santa found an "Oklahoma Snowboard" at least that is what we call it. This snowboard was a hit and still is. Lily rides it all day long. So does everyone else as you can see!!!
Jacob was so funny opening his presents! He decided after opening each one he would take it to the kitchen table and make a pile of his presents. I asked him why he was doing this and he said, "so Lily and Leif will not touch my presents." I think he takes after his Dad!!!

Christmas Eve!
We went out to dinner a few nights before Christmas at Lone Star Steak House and Lily had her face painted. She did not want to take a bath for a few days!
Isn't she pretty!
We had Christmas Eve dinner at my parents house along with Mike's parents! Of coarse I only took pictures of the kids opening Grandma Bushman's Christmas Eve presents.

Our Family Christmas Letter!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Mike, Heather, Jake, Lily, and Leif. We hope this letter finds you (or y’all) doing well! Why don’t we skip right to the cheesy updates that you will skim through quickly. I think the Chinese got it wrong this year, it has been “The Year of The Doctor” for the Hansen Family. Let me give you an example or two:
Jake had his tonsils and adenoids removed, which shut him up for 2 wks and when he would try to speak he sounded like he was huffing helium. We recommend the procedure if you have a real talkative one in your house. Leif had tubes placed in his ears, but only after nearly a year of ear infections and other ailments, which gave us our own parking space (engraved), and a revolving appointment at the pediatrician. By the way, kids under sedation, very funny. Leif also had hand surgery this year to separate a webbed finger, which all but squashed his chances of beating Michael Phelps’s records.
Lily has been back and forth to Utah, a few times. First, She had an Echocardiogram that showed she had an enlarged aorta. But after 6 months of growth and lots of prayers her exam in November showed that the heart had caught up with the aorta in growth and it was now considered normal. At the same visit they measured the curve in her back and showed that she probably has a straighter back than I do (0.03 degree curve), which was awesome news since she has not been wearing a brace or anything for months now.
Now that both Jake and Lily are in school Heather and I (and the kids) have been exposed to and contracted every virus, bacteria and who knows what else, known to man. Lets hear it for that petri dish we call public schools. The kids are loving school and learning a thing or two so I guess it’s not all bad. But we wish we’d invested in Health Care this year, then we might still have a 401K. Just kidding, on paper we still have a 401K.
Other than that, everything is about exactly the same as previous years. Heather still shops for the “most amazing deals” which go on “mega-sale” the week after we get them. Her, strategy is to buy and return so many times I need an accounting degree to understand what she actually paid. Ladies, call Heather for tips because it actually works, I honestly have no idea what gets spent. The kids are still cute as buttons, which most of the time is their only saving grace, and I still rock. We hope you have an amazing new year and maybe even get to see us some time.
Heather says I need to say something about Christ, what does she think this is Christmas or something? In all seriousness, we truly feel that we’ve been blessed far beyond what we deserve this year and are so thankful for the gospel and the peace that it brings. We pray that the Lord will bless you greatly this year.
Yours truly,
Mike, Heather, Jake, Lily and Leif

Jacob's Soccer Trophy Party
We went to a very quick soccer party for Jake to receive his first TROPHY!! He was so excited! We went to Mazzio's pizza! All three of my kids even ate the pizza! That deserved a party in itself! Only 4 players from the team could come but they had a blast! Jake's team the Mavericks won 1st place in their age group. I think they were the best of about 10 teams!! Way to go!!!
Christmas School Programs
Jacob's Program
Both kids had school programs on the same day. Jake's in the morning and Lily in the afternoon. They did awesome!
Lily's Program
Her program consisted of lots of songs and dancing. It was so cute. Of coarse Lily as very into it compared to the other kids. She was definitely the most animated one of the bunch!
