A Butterfly Threw Up In Lily's Room!!!

For those of you that keep asking to see pics of Lily's room, here you go. Lily was really big into butterflies when we moved her into her big girl room and I found these cool butterflies at Hobby Lobby and hung about 50 of them from her ceiling. She called them her Fly Flies! Mike put up the wainscoting all around her room which I absolutely love and Lily picked the dark pink on the walls. She has to have bumpers on the side of her bed because she still sleeps in a brace spreading her legs very far apart and I am a worry wart mother who is afraid if she falls out of bed she will break her neck or back. She still sleeps in a brace for her back as well.

The saying above her dresser was given to us by Grandma Hansen. It says "With a Lady Bug Kiss and a Butterfly Hug, Sleep Tight Little One Like a Bug In a Rug."

I think that must be a shadow in the pic or something. The wall is not two toned pink like that.

A White Christmas Oklahoma Style!!!

We are currently experiencing the fun winter storms in Oklahoma. Everything is totally coated in ice and looks like more is coming! Christmas came early and church was canceled yesterday. No dealing with kids in Sacrament, Yeah!!! School of course was canceled today and tons of Mike's patients canceled as well. We did not have power for a lot of last night and it got very cold in the house. We are one of the lucky ones that got power back today. Apparently there our 400,000 people in the Oklahoma City metro area that don't have power. I am guessing ours will go out again tonight when the second wave of ice hits us. I hope this all goes away by the weekend so I can actually make it to Utah for Lily and Leif's doctor appointments all next week.

Poor Maya has no where to go to the bathroom when she goes outside. There is ice everywhere. For those of you who don't know, yes we got a dog. Mike decided that I was never going to let him get one so he just showed up with Maya one day without my permission. I have to admit she is a wonderful dog and never barks! The kids love her and she loves them. I still have yet to pet or play with her. (I really can't stand dogs) The kids are great with her and that is all that matters I guess!! Jake and Lily absolutely love to take her for walks every night and I guess it gets them away from the TV and spending time with the family!

METAL MOUTH!!!

I can't believe he finally did it! I have been begging Mike to get braces since we were in dental school. He teeth were not bad but they could be much more straight and his bite was off quite a bit. I have been telling him for years he needed to practice what he preaches and low and behold he walked in from work today and surprised me. He told me that was my early Christmas present this year! Okay, good present, but I better get something else! He does look a little funny but I guess I can live with that! Thanks Mike!!!

Cute Pics of the kids!!!

Okay, no matter what I do I cannot get the picture of Jake to rotate. I save it after it was rotated the correct way and then upload it to the blog and it turns sideways again. Anybody have any ideas? Jake went to a MAD SCIENTIST birthday party for a kid in our neighborhood. All of the kids had a blast and got their own mad scientist coats!! Cute idea for a party I thought!

Of course we had to have Leif wear the glasses. He actually keeps them on for quite awhile sometimes!
Lily was dead asleep after our 7 hour car trip home from Thanksgiving. We got home at midnight and she didn't even move while I unbuckled her or while I was carrying her in the house. So unlike her, so she must have been tired!

First Haircut!!!

So over Thanksgiving I got really sick of Leif's hair and shaved it completely off!!! He had wings from how long his hair was and how it stuck out perfectly on both sides of his head. Funny thing was after it was all cut off he looked exactly like Jacob did at that age. It was pretty weird looking at him and just picturing Jake all over again. What a cutie!!!

THANKSGIVING!!!

We made the 7 hour drive to Houston for Thanksgiving along with my brother Ryan and his family and my parents. We were able to spend Thanksgiving with my oldest brother and his cute family and had a great time!!! Eric was blessing his baby that Sunday so we were all able to be there for that. It is so fun to see cousins and my kids were in heaven. Leif has two boy cousins born within a couple months of him so that will be fun when they grow up together!! My kids did amazing both ways to and from Houston. Not a peep out of any of them either way. I am so glad they have all three always been extremely good in the car. My parents now have 12 grandchildren and are very proud of their expanding family. Some of the grandkids are pictured below. I am grateful for the holiday season and all the feelings it brings. Family is the best!!!

These three are going to be trouble when they grow up!!!

Boundary Waters Trip!!!

Well, This is kind of a delayed posting. In September my uncle Bruce took me, my dad, Ben, my brother in law Tom and his dad and brother, and my cousin Ena on a canoeing trip through the boundary waters of Minnesota. We spent 7 days camping, fishing and canoeing (the only travel allowed). It was amazing and totally relaxing. We caught mostly northern pike. I'm already trying to figure out how to get back there. The weather was perfect, except for one day and one night where it decided to dump just over 10 inches of rain. I'll never hear the end of it from Heather about leaving her with all three kids for 9 days but it was totally worth it.

Fun Trip to Vegas

We took Mike's entire staff to Vegas this week and had a great time. We flew in on Wednesday night and got home Sunday night. We attended a conference there that was great!!! There were some really great speakers and some boring ones as well! It was fun hanging out with all the girls in his office and fun was definitely had by all. We flew in Mike's sister from Utah to watch the three kiddos and she did great, but tired. I was able to rest most of the days and just hang out by myself while everyone was in class which was a wonderful break!!! I did end up going and listening to a few of the speakers I thought would be fun to hear. It was so weird for me to get on an airplane with no children! We took the staff out to eat at Benihana's the first night which was wonderful! I don't remember Las Vegas being so dang expensive. This little trip was not cheap, but worth it. I think it really pumped up his staff! They are hard workers and always open to hear new things to help our business which makes it easier for us. Mike saw and old friend from dental school (Mike Crockett) there and was able to catch up a little bit. We had fun gambling, eating, and walking the strip every night. On Sat. night Planet Hollywood was doing a big Grand Opening. There were a bunch of stars there for that and Mike and I even got to walk on the red carpet. Oh yeah, we are so cool!! The girls behaved themselves very well on the trip and didn't get into too much trouble. I figured they would drink a lot and go crazy but no one actually got too smashed! The girls and I are planning a cruise for our next trip so now it is my job to find a good dental cruise to attend!! These trips kinda work in my favor. I get to go, but don't have to attend the classes if I don't want, and get to get away from the kids!!! I think we should do it for sure every year!!!

All of the girls wanted to make matching T-shirts for the trip to wear on the first day of the conference. Their shirts said Dental Divas ( they even made one for me which was so thoughtful) and they surprised Mike and his partner with Superman DDS shirts. At first Mike thought it was cheesy for everyone to dress alike but then we got to the conference and there were a ton of offices that were dressed much crazier than us so he did not feel as bad after that.

Jacob's Birthday!!!

So my sweet little Jake is not so little anymore! We had his party at Pump It Up. It was great. All I had to do was bring the cake and drinks. All the kids had a great time and Jacob made a killing on the presents. He got so many gift cards to different stores for like $20 bucks each. I must be the cheap mom. I would never spend that much on a little kids birthday. We have a least 3 or 4 parties a month. I would go broke. To weird that he is six years old already!! He got so many new toys I don't think I will have to buy him any Christmas. HAHA Can you believe I actually made the cake myself! It looks like I have become all domestic but if you ask Mike I definitely have not!

Cutie Pies!!!

Here are the cutest kids in the world. Okay I am biased but I love them to death! These are the latest pics I have that were professionally done. Leif is now almost 8 months old so he looks much older now. He was such a cute newborn and a very happy baby. He was born 1 month early and only weighed 6ls. 13oz. My smallest baby by far, only took about 1 1/2 pushes to get him out. It was my fastest and easiest labor yet. Now Leif has turned out to be the biggest kid I have. He is 22 lbs at 7 1/2 months. He is going to be our football player. Well, now that I have this blog thing figured out there will definately be more to come.
