We have had an emotional weekend in our family. On Friday a sweet family in our ward lost their 16 month old baby in an accidental drowning. She is in my Bunko group and I have known the family for years. Her dad is the current bishop in my ward and they are the most amazing family. The news of his death was heartbreaking for our family! It has affected us more than we could ever imagine! Her sweet boy was just a couple of months older than Leif. I was able to cook dinner for the entire family and extended family the next day and take it to their house. I was amazed at the love and support from all of our ward. I am so grateful to have the gospel in our life. Wards are an amazing family in our church and very much needed at times like these!
The next day on our way to church we got into a pretty bad car accident. Airbags went off and everything! We were all okay, but not the car! Normally I would have been in a very foul mood about the whole situation, but all I could think about was this poor family and the trials they are going through. It put a whole new perspective on things for us. I hope from now on our family, okay mostly myself, can keep from getting so upset about the little trials in our lives and focus on the gospel and Savior and how we should be living our lives. We all came home and said a family prayer thanking him for our safety that day and all of our blessings! The first counselor in the bishopric even called us from church to see if we were okay. Someone else going to church had seen us and let the bishopric know what happened. What a ward! I am truly grateful for the knowledge I have about the gospel and the opportunities I have to live it!
