School Pictures 2011-2012

Here are my beautiful children this fabulous school year!!! Are they not just the cutest things ever?!!!! Leif is just a little stud! He is so loving pre-k this year! Handsome little devil that kid!!! Lily is just so dang pretty! I love her gorgeous blonde hair! Beautiful girl!!! Jacob lets his fake smile live on! Funny man! I love him for it too!!

Lily lost her front tooth!!!

Well Lily decided that her front tooth was ready to come out tonight! Really it wasn't but don't tell her that! HAHA She came out of her room proclaiming, "Hey I just lost my front tooth!" With a surprised look on her face. I don't think it was quite loose enough to come out but she yanked and tugged and pulled to get the thing out! Funny girl! It was bleeding everywhere! Gross! He other front tooth is a little loose as well and she tells me she wants to pull it out tonight too. Guess we will see what happens!! HAHA

How on Earth????

So, I'm watching the nightly news when I hear Luke screaming at the back door. I let it go on for a while cause lets face it the kid is always screaming about something (please learn English already!!!). Finally I get up to make sure he's not dieing. I open the door and he immediately points out to the driveway where I see Leif sitting with his back to me. It looks like he's sitting on his bike which is laying down but he's whimpering. I walk up to him to find this:

Some how he'd gotten his foot jammed between the peddle and the bike frame. I tried to pull the foot out which produced screaming. I tried to turn the peddle, more screaming. I can't take the peddle off w/o turning it. I'm thinking "crap, I'm going to have to get a hack saw and cut through this peddle.

I tried to get a C-clamp to fit in there but didn't have one quite big enough. Finally I took the entire back wheel assembly off, stood on the frame and pulled up on the peddle. Out popped the foot. Crisis averted! One more hour and I had the stupid bike back together.

Happy Birthday Grandma!!

We celebrated Grandma's birthday today! It is actually tomorrow but we did the party at Sunday dinner! I cooked her salmon (her favorite), cowboy mashed potatoes, salad, and an artichoke dish made with crescent rolls! It was all so yummy! Sarah made her famous mint brownies for her cake! I have the best mom in the world! Just look at how dang pretty she is! Especially those pearly whites! HAHA Which she still needs two more of!!! Can you believe that pretty lady is 65!!!

Camping at Lake Liberty!!!

Campin' time! My friend James Stuart called last minute to see if we wanted to go camping with them. Luckily we keep our camping stuff ready to go. We threw it in the civic and drove 20 minutes to Lake Liberty. We got there as the sun was going down. I hurried and set up the tent with a tiny bit of help from Jake. There were 3 VW buses there, but they let me camp with them anyway :) The kids were off in a torrent of tag, soccer, collecting shells (the lake was WAY down due to the drought) and other mischief. An attempt at fishing was made until the kids collectively decided throwing rocks in the lake would be more fun. We couldn't have a fire due to the burn ban but still cooked some hot dogs on the camp stove. Jake was the oldest and made an attempt to organize the youngsters in a game of capture the flag. We had excitement when a group of teenagers came and camped a bit too close to us. One guy in our party was annoyed and called the cops on them. Must have been a slow night because 4 cars rolled up like it was SWAT on a serious bust. I'm not sure what went down but the kids left. We also got to listen to some rednecks blare music at 3am and we were lucky enough to hear the rustic sounds of the train go by every so often. I slept under the stars, even though we're in a drought, it sprinkled on me off and on. I had a CE course to get to so we woke up @ 6:30-ish, packed up camp and ran home. It was a whirlwind but was fun!

Grandparents Day!!!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Deer Creek Schools!! They do the best things for the kids. Each class had the grandparents come in throughout the day and had special things planned for them. My parents spent 45 min. in each of the kids classes! My parents loved it even though they were not the least bit excited to go! HAHA I had to beg them. Brats! I picked up Leif at 11:30 and saw them leaving with huge smiles on their faces! I talked to them and they admitted they had a blast!!! Photos courtesy of Grandma Bushman!

Alona comes to visit!!!

Alona came to visit over Labor Day weekend! It was so fun to have her here! We stayed up almost every night talking super late! She is such an awesome cousin of mine! I took her to the OKC Bombing Memorial and to check out Bricktown. We played lots of card games and just hung out! It was a great weekend! Thanks so much for coming Alona!!

It was very sobering for me to take her here for her to see for the first time! I always seem to have a flood of emotions every time I go there. With the 9-11 ten year anniversary coming up it seemed so revert there. I am glad I had an excuse to go!

Dance Party!!!
Somehow the last night she was here it turned into a dance party! The kids had a blast dancing around on the table! Man do they have some moves. Of coarse the fun has to end sometime and it did with tragedy. Lily slapped Jacob in fun and really smacked him hard. That girl has some punch! Check out her hand mark and his chest!!! It has to be said though that is was so dang hard Jacob actually threw up for the first time in forever! He got beat up by a girl! HEHE
