Sad, I know, but this is the first time we have ever carved pumpkins! Our awesome neighbors did it with us and were kind enough to let us do it in their backyard on their patio table. They went above and beyond their duty and gave us an extra pumpkin because I dropped one of ours unloading it from the car and it broke all over the place. They also gave us the coolest skull candles to put in the pumpkins and cleaned up our mess after the fact. Not to mention Deanna took some great pics of the kids with her new camera and emailed them to me! Thanks we had a fun night! We like hanging out with the Bostons!
Concentrating so hard!!!
Of coarse Lily would not touch the pumpkin!
Grandma Hansen gave Jake his cool shirt!
Do I have to stand next to her?
Of course the kids played while the adults cut the pumpkins!!!
Ethan loves Leif! What a couple of cuties!
Grandma Hansen gave Leif his cool shirt too!
This is Leif's signature face lately. We love it!!!
Awesome job on the pumpkins kids! I mean Adults!!!
This past weekend we drove to Houston for my niece's baptism! We left on Friday afternoon for the eight hour drive. The kids were great! We spent the day Saturday at soccer games and the baptism at 4pm. Lauren asked Mike to speak about the Holy Ghost. We got to see my aunt and uncle and some of my cousins that made it to the baptism. Then we came home and just hung out that night and talked. It was a fun trip. I wish we could have had longer to stay. We always have fun there. We turned around and came home after church the next day. It was a very quick trip but our kids always love to see their cousins! Lily will not quit asking when she gets to go to Texas again!
Isn't she so pretty!!!
Eric and Lauren!!!
Jacob was very excited to see Lauren get baptized and can't wait until next year when it is his turn!!!
The cake was really cool!!!
Three pees in a pod!!
All the cousins that made it to the baptism!!!
What cute sista's!!!
The Bushman Fam!!!
All of the Bushmans that were there!!!
This is me with three of my cousins close to my age. It was fun seeing them again!
My aunt and uncle Maylene and Darrel. The kids always seem to gravitate to my uncle!
The kiddos paying some b-ball!!!
What a Diva!!!
What's up?!!
Momma's Boy!!!
Leif just followed Brandt around everywhere. They didn't really play together yet!
We took the kids to the zoo a couple Fridays ago. Mike did not work and the kids had fall break. It was a perfect day outside and we had a blast. I think they actually liked playing at the playground there more than seeing any of the animals. Go figure.
Jacob is a very good reader for his age. He loves to read and can often be found reading books to Lily! It is wonderful having him help me give Lily the time she needs reading books! What a guy!!
These were taken about the middle of October! What good looking teams. Jake and Lily's seasons are not over until November 15th. We can't wait to have a Saturday where there is no soccer games!!
Lily's team was so fun to watch. I bet on little girl on her team scored more for the other teams than ours! Too Fun!!!
Poor Leif is the most accident prone kid. He always has a bump or bruise on his head! He was playing in the back yard yesterday and head planted it on the concrete! He has such a big head I guess it is hard to keep from falling when he is running, it is to heavy!! HAHA
Funny thing is he never really cries long about it! Tough kid!
He looks a little drugged here huh!
It looks like someone stuck a quarter under his skin.
Luckily he woke up the next morning and it was mostly gone.
I have been having heart attacks the last couple of days. We have finally weened Lily from her back brace completely! Scarey! She has had a back brace or cast on since she was 17 months old. I am so used to picking her up and having some sort of hard device around her whole mid section. We have been slowly weening her out of her last brace. She had just been wearing it at nights for a little while. Now we have gotten rid of it completely. I am so nervous for some reason. She almost doesn't feel "normal" to me anymore. I am praying everyday that her back continues to stay straight and know that we have overcome that hurdle in her life although there are more to come. I am a crazy mother who is constantly checking her back to make sure it is not falling back down. Every morning I ask Lily before we get her dressed if I can look at her back. All I have to do now is say "Lily" and she looks at me and says "not again" as she lifts up her shirt and bends over for me. Please keep her in your prayers. I hope that all of our hard work these past few years pays off and she remains stable. We are so proud of her and know she has had it rough with all of these hospital trips. We hope she can remain strong for the rest of her treatments. Lily, you are AWESOME!!!
I am finally following the trend and doing a blog for our family. We have been living in Edmond, Oklahoma for the past five years and loving it! Mike loves his practice and has a great partner to work with. Mike has two practice locations and switches back and forth during the week. He likes the variety of people he gets at each location. We have enjoyed our many trips to Utah since living here. Our daughter Lily has some medical problems and trips to Utah have been about every three months for the past few years. There were only two doctors in the US that do the treatment we wanted for Lily and as luck would have it one doctor was in Salt Lake near grandma and grandpa Hansen. We enjoy living next to my parents and brother and his family and enjoy life!!!
