I have been having heart attacks the last couple of days. We have finally weened Lily from her back brace completely! Scarey! She has had a back brace or cast on since she was 17 months old. I am so used to picking her up and having some sort of hard device around her whole mid section. We have been slowly weening her out of her last brace. She had just been wearing it at nights for a little while. Now we have gotten rid of it completely. I am so nervous for some reason. She almost doesn't feel "normal" to me anymore. I am praying everyday that her back continues to stay straight and know that we have overcome that hurdle in her life although there are more to come. I am a crazy mother who is constantly checking her back to make sure it is not falling back down. Every morning I ask Lily before we get her dressed if I can look at her back. All I have to do now is say "Lily" and she looks at me and says "not again" as she lifts up her shirt and bends over for me. Please keep her in your prayers. I hope that all of our hard work these past few years pays off and she remains stable. We are so proud of her and know she has had it rough with all of these hospital trips. We hope she can remain strong for the rest of her treatments. Lily, you are AWESOME!!!

FREAKING OUT

what a pretty picture of her! we will keep her in our prayers... what a strong little one!
That is so wonderful! We keep Lily and your whole family in our prayers. You are an amazing Mom, Heather. I hope you know how special you are. Ok I am at work crying while i write this. I really need to get more sleep. But seriously, you should be so proud of yourself and your family. You, Mike, and the kids are such a great family. I am so glad to have you all as friends. Thanks!
congrats to lily and try not to freak out too much.
You wouldn't be mom if you weren't worried about everthing staying in place. You've hurdled the brick wall... that is awesome!
She'll be fine, don't freak out! Look at that cute kid. Oh btw, I still haven't forgotten to send those skirts, I just haven't gotten around to it. I will soon, I promise :)
She has the best posture of anyone I know! : ) We love you Lily, congrats!
Lily may be awesome (and super cute), but Heather, you are truly amazing (and beautiful)! When Lily is a sassy teen I'm going to sit her down and tell her how lucky she is to have you as her mom. YOU have been SO patient, SO hard working, SO diligent, SO self sacrificing, and SO caring and loving through this whole 5 year ordeal. No wonder you are so worried! I'm sure it will be fine, you've worked so hard for this Heather. Congratulations it's finally off. Take a deep breath and enjoy it girl.
Thanks for all the love and care you give to this beautiful granddaughter! We love you. Mom
Heather! I can't even imagine what you and Lily have been through, but it is so dang awesome that you did what it took to fix her back (and without surgery!). You truly are an inspiration. My scoliosis causes me so much pain, and it isn't even very severe. Lily is lucky to have such a dedicated, caring and loving mom. You rock! (And we would LOVE to see you when you're in UT -- we definitely need to plan something...)

she's gonna be fine!!! you guys are in our prayers. I admire you for all of the hard work you have down. Not many moms would be able to stick with it like you have... not even taking the brace off when you could have. You are such a great mom!
P.S. I would call you... if I could find my phone!!! Yuo called while I was sleeping yesterday. And today while I was in the shower. Mason brought me the phone while I was showering. I told him I couldn't get it... and when I got out I couldn't find it. Kids.
As a former back brace wearer of five years myself, I can tell you that Lily is going to have better posture than most kids! Way to go Lily (and Heather!)
I am so happy for Lily! She is adorable! We will keep her in our prayers!
My little man has some spine issues so I am right there with you on the back checking.I am so happy for you both and for Lily's new freedom. I will pray that things continue to go well.
That is great HEather that she is doing so good!
Kellie
Way to go, Lily! We'll definitely be praying for her!
