Thanksgiving In Utah

We had a wonderful 10 day trip to Utah for Thanksgiving. Of course we had doctor visits for the first 3 days we were there and then the rest were play days. The first day we got there we were able to rent our car and drive to temple square and look at the temple and the tabernacle. I had not been to the tabernacle yet and it was amazing. We peeked in the visitors center by the temple for a minute to show the kids and then headed for Heber.

Such cute little ones!!!

We spent Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at our various doctors and hospitals. We can't make a trip to Utah without seeing doctors. Leif had an echo which went well. He is a funny kid under sedation. He apparently takes his drugs well. The nurse had to keep giving him more and more because he kept waking up and being to alert. It was funny watching him!!

Doesn't that just look sad! Cute guy.

Lily got the best news of all! Her back is straight as can be! Her aorta and heart are within more proportional limits and we don't need to worry about her heart anymore! Yeah!!! The doctors at primary children's told us to check her heart out every two or three years just for precaution sake. Her hips are still being watched and we saw a geneticist as well. He believes she has some connective tissue disorder, possibly Ehlers Danlos 6, but does not believe she will be a case that we will get a definite diagnosis. All in all it was a wonderful visit for Lily's heatlh!

After all doctor visits were done it was time to relax and hang out with the family! We ate lots of food, went bowling, played games, made homemade ice cream, visited with friends and family, and Grandma and Grandpa took Lily and Jake on the Polar Express. They had a blast meeting Santa and loved being in Utah. Maggie took Mike shopping at my request. He was in desperate need of new clothes and hates shopping. I figured if I had his sister-in-law take him there would be much less whining involved. He scored a whole new wardrobe and looks hot!! Grandma and Grandpa Hansen had just gotten a new little puppy before we came and the kids loved her. They helped name her LB or Ellbie, which stands for "Little Booger". Leif ran around the house yelling, "Ellbie up!" We are excited to have Grandma and Grandpa Hansen come out here for Christmas and hope we can have just a little snow for them so they are not so homesick!

Jake now wants an "Ellbie" for himself.

Lily loved Ellbie and would never leave her alone. Poor dog!

Here is a collage of our wonderful festivities. Thanks for the good time Hansen clan. We can't wait to come again!!!
