Our Christmas Card!!!!

Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Greetings from the Hansen Family! I know what you're thinking. Hansen Family, all I see are a bunch of kids. Yep! We have officially become that family. You know the one, the kind that tics you off by sending pictures of their kids instead of themselves. Yes, there's a new face on the card this year. Luke Ause Hansen was born Oct. 15th of this year, one week after we moved into a new house. No, that was not at all stressful. Once you have this many kids you don't even notice another one is around. Which brings us back to "that" family thing. We are now exponential. (You math whizzes will like that one.) We can no longer rent a sedan when we go somewhere. Confined to tour the streets in our minivan. Oh, and somehow, we ended up one kid short of being that annoying family that has all their children's names start with the same letter, Thank you Jacob! (oh by the way, if you are one of those families, no offense, we mean those other families, yours are cute.) That being said I think we're going to keep this last one (Luke). He's cute as a button and we're excited to have him help us out number the girls 2 to 1. We need all the help we can get.
Quick update: Heather has been pregnant all year and is now looking forward to being hormonally balanced again (as are we all). She is busy fitting us into this new house and dealing with four children. In October we moved into Heather's parent's house. Before you all utter a collective "I knew it", her parents moved out for the next three years and we are fortunate enough to house sit for them. Heather is also trying to get used to the idea of raising kids in the house she grew up in. Not at all weird.
I am still practicing dentistry and have somehow managed not to run the practice into the ground during the recession. We just added 2 new operatories and are hanging in there pretty well. Still praying for a cure for baldness. Did I mention I have four kids. I am enjoying going out and working on the land that this house sits on. It feels good to be outside.
Jake has decided he will be a professional soccer player. His team of 7 and 8 year olds moved up an age bracket this year and were playing 9 and 10 year olds. He is now playing indoor soccer much to the chagrin of his mother who is wondering if soccer will ever end. His is doing well in school and is still our braniac.
Lily is trying out a dance class and loving it. Having hip dysplasia comes in handy there. Her first day the teacher had the girls try to put their legs up on the bar and she threw her's up by her ear as every one's jaw dropped.
Leif is constantly cracking us up. The kid who had us worried if he'd ever talk now won't shut up/ He is always coming up with something to make us laugh and get himself in trouble. This morning he was going around singing, "If your happy in your nose clap your hands."
Luke is still in the "all I do is eat, sleep, poop, and scream" phase and is doing well at all of them.
We hope all is going well with you and your families this holiday season and throughout the year. We wish you the very bast. Don't be a stranger!

Love

Mike, Heather, Jacob, Lily, Leif and Luke
